How To Make a Ketogenic Diet Plan
When we think of a ketogenic diet plan, things like bacon and sausage don’t come to mind. Society tells us what is bad and then we are just bound to believe it. But what if there are certain diets where the allowed foods are things that we always thought were bad for us? And what if the foods that we thought were beneficial could diminish the diet?
Foods not in a ketogenic diet plan
We will first start off on the types of food your should avoid. There are wheat and flour products of any kind should be avoided. The have a high glycemic index and it triggers a high insulin response within your blood. The response can lead to other things like craving more sweets, which leads to more fat storage. The ketogenic diet plan basically has put aside 5% of your total daily calories should come from carbohydrates but no more. With this amount allowed, you can get this just by eating the starchy vegetables you were going to anyways. things like carrots, cauliflower and turnips.
While you are staying away from carbohydrate foods and foods with a very starchy count, fruits and sugars should be avoided as well. They will have the same effect on your body because when the body digests food not from the ketogenic diet plan, they turn into blood sugar. This is why when someone eats a candy bar, there blood sugar skyrockets and they have much more energy for a short amount of time.
Allowed foods in the ketogenic diet plan
Though you may think all of your options of food have basically disappeared, rest assured that there are many good food allowed in the ketogenic diet plan. Things like bacon, chicken, ham and turkey are very encouraged during this diet. What I like to do it cook up some turkey bacon in the morning and spread it as bits over a fresh salad.
People like myself start to get sick of salads but there are ways to spice it up. Trying adding different types of vegatables like sunflower seeds, cucumber and different dressing. At dinner time, you can have a nice big plate of spaghetti with meat sauce. The only thing you will have to substitute is get tofu based spaghetti noodles, this will let you eat what you want while still having an extremely low carb count. During the day a good snack for the ketogenic diet plan is nuts. The salted assorted are the best option. As long as you are drinking lots of water, green tea or coffee, the amount of fat and salt you hurt wont matter because it is being flushed out.
There are lots of ways to substitute foods and still enjoy eating. You will have the urges after meals to get some type of bread or sweets in you but these urges on the ketogenic diet plan fade as time goes by. the more you follow strictly the easier it becomes. though this is not a permanent diet and it should be consulted with a physician first, the benefits are amazing.
